A Poem for Now, for Always

While reading through Mary Engelbreit's "Mother O'Mine ", a first mother's day gift given by my SIL Kara whom received it from my mom as her first mother's day gift, I came across this poem. Heart melted.

Love At First Sight

I met her in the hospital

Just thirty year ago,

I met and loved her instantly

And she loved me I know.

She, woman fashion, told her love,

I must have seemed absurd,

So struck with all her loveliness,

I couldn't say a word.

But we knew then, as we know now,

We'll love till time is done.

For you see she was my mother,

and I, her brand new son.

As I taught my 3rd graders in the past: "People communicate through poetry" I can only pray Sawyer one day communicates this to me!
