On October 15, we took a trip back to America for a work conference. We, of course, tagged on vacation time! The first week of our journey was spent in JP's hometown of Anderson, South Carolina. We had not seen our family since the summer of '08. It was wonderful getting hugs and kisses, eating our favorites of Mrs. Mayfield's amazing home cooked meals (fried green tomatoes, macaroni cheese casserole, and meatloaf all in one night is HEAVEN), spending time drinking coffee and watching Fox News, and getting to see Sawyer meet the Mayfield family for the first time. But new memories were also made during this week! The Mayfield family has their famous Weiner Roast every year. This year, they put it on so that I, Alicia, could finally join in on the fun! It was my first time roasting Mayfield style and I had a blast. We had a great time and the weather was perfect. There was a slight drizzle at times and cool temperatures, but it made it perfect for standing beside the bonfire. We had hotdogs with all the fixins' and smores! After not having quality pork and beef for 8 months, it was like a dream come true for us!!

We were thankful to Mr. Mayfield and Jay for doing a great job at starting the fire.
We laughed at Colin and Jack as they showed so much excitement. Jack was totally into wearing one of Mrs. Mayfield's hats as he worked hard at collecting firewood. Such a funny little dude! Colin definitely wanted to hang out with the rest of us, but had to continue looking through Best Buy advertisements for washers and dryers! We don't think anyone has cuter nephews than we do!!
The night ended with all of us hanging out in the den and watching the Carolina Gamecocks play Alabama Crimson Tide. They lost, which of course broke our hearts, but we were thankful to get to watch it LIVE in AMERICA!!
