- On Tuesday, we had been working all day. We were so exhausted. Having a garage sale is one thing, but making sure everything you own is out in the garage with a price on it is another. We had a dear friend from church coming by that night to shop because she was going on vacation during our garage sale times. A few hours before she arrived, she called to tell us not to worry about dinner. She showed up with a delicious meal, flowers to brighten our day, and an attitude to shop. What makes this story even more precious is the fact that her week had already been hectic due to some house problems. She really didn't have the time or energy herself, and yet, she made us dinner and came over and bought a few things. We felt loved and cherished not only by her, but by the Lord. He knew we needed a good dinner and didn't have the energy, nor supplies, to make it. He provided!
- On Thursday, we decided to list all of our remaining"big" things on craigslist to see if we could get them sold. By the end of the day, we had sold our washer and dryer, bedroom set, office chair, book shelf, and lawn mower/weed eater. He provided!
- How do you sell your washer and dryer 2 weeks before you move out of your house? How do you easily do laundry without it? How do you sell your lawn mower 2 weeks before you move out of your house? How do you mow your lawn without it? These were questions that anyone might ask. We knew we needed to sell them and we did. But God knew all the little details. Thursday afternoon, a lady came by to look at the w/d. She began telling me that she and her husband had just moved back to the states from Mongolia. They were missionaries there for over 10 years. They were needing so many things. Well, to make a long story short, she bought the washer, dryer, lawn mower, and weed eater. However, she had one condition. They would be closing on their house July 31 and asked if we would keep them until then. So now, we have sold those items, but get to use them until the day we close on our house as well. He knows our thoughts and He knows everything that we need. Crossing the t's and dotting the i's. He provided!
- Our garage sale was going to start on Friday afternoon. To be transparent, I was a little scared and nervous. Friday around lunch time, a new friend from church dropped by to give us a small gift of encouragement. What made this gift so special was that it was something of hers that she had cherished for years, and was giving it to us. "I thank my God everytime I remember you." Phillipians 1:3 She came to let us know that she would be praying for us and how God had already started working! We both stood on the front porch tearing up. It's not just what we physically need, but it's also about our emotional needs. He provided!
- During the garage sale, when I would think something would never be bought or I might need to drop the price on something, a person would come and buy it! So many of you came to the garage sale and we sold almost everything. Thank you for coming! Through you, He provided!
- We have a refrigerator, a small desk and an entertainment center left. Am I worried? NO! He will provide!
And I leave you with these last few thoughts about the role of a teacher. Jesus is just like a teacher and He loves you! He is waiting to conference with you. You need His help. He knows you have questions about your work/life/family. He wants you to have the best life possible. He wants you to have that private, personal, prompted relationship with Him so that you can sit back and be amazed at how He provides for you to the smallest detail. Just think about it my dear sweet friends. Do you know Jesus in such a way that you can see how He crosses the t's and dots the i's for you?
